      BPR, BPM and ERP

I had a customer ask me about the relationship between BPM and ERP. Does ERP implement BPM or do you need to have BPM before ERP? Is an ERP implementation a BPR project? Who’s on first? As the ERP industry evolves it has become evident that additional disciplines like Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) must be employed for a successful ERP experience.

Integrated Business Planning — the Inevitable Journey for Finance

It should come as no surprise that the next mile of finance is upon us – changes are afoot in the world of budgeting and forecasting. This information feeds into budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning models with most of the emphasis on revenues and expenses. But many of these models lack collaboration, clarity, and timeliness.

      Software Made Simple

With SAP Rapid Deployment solutions, customers can simplify and speed up deployments. A new “solution configurator” will give them even more choice in the process, says Bernd Welz, head of Solution & Knowledge Packaging at SAP.

A Lego set is a good analogy: It includes a box, which shows what you can assemble from the pieces inside; the pieces themselves; and step-by-step instructions. In this analogy, RDS product descriptions are the ‘box’ containing the Lego set; SAP software represents the Lego pieces inside; and automated configuration content, test scripts, and enablement material are the ‘directions.’ Also, like some Lego kits, RDS solutions are modular, giving customers flexibility to combine several packages and add custom elements. We call this assemble-to-order.
